When Ronald Reagan was president, he had the good fortune of having Mikhail Gorbachev come along as the last leader of the Soviet Union. Gorbachev, unlike the previous thugs, criminals, and assorted murderers who terrorized the region for 60+ years, decided he wanted to try something new, correctly sensing that a top-down, central-controlled economy is…a complete disaster!
Anyway, the point is, everybody loved ol’ Gorbachev, right? But why, oh why, do Greenwich residents feel the need to pay tribute to the guy? I refer, of course, to the mysterious Gorbachev wine-stain birthmark stickers you see on the backs of many Greenwich vehicles.
If you really must memorialize someone this way, I recommend a nice sticker of Ronald Reagan riding his horse, how about that?
