As a salesman, I’m naturally optimistic. In fact, you can’t be a salesman without optimism. So it positively pains me to admit that nothing’s selling at the moment! There is no question that people are all over town looking; I’m busy with my listings, other brokers are reporting the same thing, so surely actual buying will result soon, right?
Are your clients giving any helpful feedback on the homes they’re touring? Prices too high, lots too small, that kind of thing?

Lately, all of my activity involves attending the showings of my own listings. I don’t get to hear the feedback unless/until I call the showing broker and say, “Well?”
I have a good friend that lives in Scarsdale and is looking to trade up. He can’t. There is ZERO bid for a $1-1.5MM home that comes with an annual $50,000 tax bill! You think it’s bad in Greenwich; Westchester has to be worse. Not good news for me. Luckily, I don’t need to sell, Yet!

Westchester taxes absolutely astound me. They are severely depressing home values. Hell, they’re severely depressing home owners! Why don’t these people wake up and vote the tax & spenders out??
It’s Westchester; they wouldn’t have it any other way. They like taxes.
